WHO'S ON THE OTHER END WHEN YOU CALL 9.1.1
|
When you call for help at a moments notice
you call 9-1-1. What you are doing is asking
a stranger to help you. You maybe asking
them to stop a loved one from dying to
stopping the abuse.
Who are these strangers who's job it is to
help without a second thought and are willing
to spend every working day making sure your
day is safe?
These 9-1-1 dispatchers are not always the
ones who stand out after a situation is settled
usually the Officer, EMT, First Responder or
Fire Fighter is praised and the Dispatcher is
thought of as a phone operator. Without the
Dispatcher who would get these guys to the
right place and calm you down.
This site is dedicated to all the Dispatcher
who are forgotten.

interesting they can be.
Received this letter from a Dispatcher.
I was trying to get directions from
a caller and asked her if she lived
in the Township or Village, she said
she lived in the woods.
I received a call on 9-1-1 from a
little boy, he asked for that guy
from star trek. We advised him
that William Shattner is only on
T.V. you can't reach him on 9-1-1.
We had a 9-1-1 call, womans child
drown, she would not give directions
(9-1-1 not inhanced) dispatcher was
able to get an address and directions
after much coaxing. Talked husband
through CPR. Rescue units came in
record time. Child lived, no ill
effects. A few days after the episode
the mother called to thank the doctor.
That's ok, that's what we are there for.
